Sort of. Li-ion batteries need to be taken down to at least just under 20% to get the longest life out of them. However don't run Li-ion batteries flat. That will damage them just like Ni-Cads Ni-Cads are ones you NEVER took down to zero. You damaged the cells by doing that. It really depends on the type of battery, it just takes a little self education to find out how to get the best life out of your battery.
