Is it possible to compare how the Skylake chips work in these boards compared to the Kaby Lake chips? Or is it set up where Z270 is only for Kaby Lake even though the socket is the same.
It is an ATX board, but they have one in each configuration. They are solid and GSM which is nice. Check out the MyDigitalSSD series of M.2. They aren't the fastest but they are on par with SSD pricing for the same size.
Indeed, the slogan in the entire industry seems to be "make their lives so miserable that they have no choice but to update to the latest hardware and software every 2 years". This level of planned obsolescence is just appalling.
Meanwhile my 5+ year old Sandy Bridge is happily chugging along.
