Awesome man, I run the the Sapphire Vapor X R9 290x - love it! Congrats on that beauty! good deal too.
Thanks and nice. I was looking at the Vapor-X but I couldn't pass up on this deal. It was used for mining for 2 months but hopefully it lasts
Looks in good shape :). Ya that's almost $100 off! I'm a sucker for blue and black.
Thumbs up to that vid card. Im becoming a bit sad that I bought a GTX 760 so early but oh well. It will last me a couple of video card generations.
The 760 is still a really good card, much cheaper than the 290 too if you buy new lol.
Ya the 760 is really good still imo, can easily run all games at ultra, probably for awhile longer too!
Nice! I really want an R9 290. :>
The problem with the sapphire coolers is that they make alot of noise, more than the other manufacturers for example XFX or MSI. Good deal tho. Let me know those fans ramp up while you game.
Thanks guys!
While using the automatic fan setting in TRIXX the card is actually not very loud at all. The fans only run at 20% during idle and it doesn't get super loud during gaming but is audible. Now if you configure a more aggressive fan curve then yeah the card can be pretty loud above about 65%
I have the same experience, I have 2x 290x Vapor X and my fans never really go above 35% and the temps stay in the lower 70s even in the most demanding games w/ crossfire.
and are OC.
Wow, That's really nice. I would love to pair that with the Black/Orange Phantom case .... would be sick.
Have you played with the OC yet?
I have not and probably won't anytime soon tbh for a few reasons: I only have a mid-range CPU at the moment which is no doubt holding me back. I also only have a 600 watt PSU and the airflow in my case is not spectacular so heat and power consumption need to be kept at a minimum.
Besides I'm only playing at 1080P and even with this weak CPU I'm pretty much maxing out all games as is lol
Nice to hear that they are going into a better direction with the cooling.
I finally got around to doing some benchmarks lol
