Just got the Orange Box retail - Won't install using discs

I’ve done the disc install method for many games before. Run menu. Install path - Install Driveletter: Easy as hell.

It grinds away and installs the first disc in like… 2-3 minutes. I knew something was wrong. Then tells me to insert Disc 2. Several seconds later it says it will acquire all updates for ll games as necessary. WTF is this?! How do i get this POS to install via disc?

I don’t think you do it’s ten years old after all. The keys should work on Steam if you add them. Windows has changed a lot since then to expect it to “just work”.

The orange box requires you to have a steam account.

You can still get them new in stores here.

Don’t think you can. Got the Orange Box on disk a while back because of >5Mb/s internet plus low data caps but ended up just being a few Steam keys spread across about 4 DVDs and only a few hundred MB of the actual games.
4/10 try harder next time Valve.

Thats is a lot of games these days. I think it was MGS5 it only had a steam installer in the DVD, nothing else.

Yup it was:
