I just got a inland surge protector from micro center and am getting a red surge light. Is this a bad surge protector? Should I stay away from inland all together?
Surely on the manual will say the meaning of that red light. I've had some surge protector and the red light might mean the absence of ground connection to that plug. Try to connect the surge protector to other plugs and see if the red light stays on.
Sadly no.
Sadly no to what part of the answer I tried to give you? Another thing that might have happened is that you got a surge protector with a damaged fuse. Did you consult the manual?

I had to call up the number on the box. Was the only way. Red fuse light means it's working. Wish it was universal.
They need to go back to the basis. RED = BAD GREEN = GOOD
Glad you got around this issue without any hassle.
