I've been looking for a while at small cases. There are just a huge number of bad or even crazy designs. Not only do they put everything in the wrong place and get the proportions wrong, but the details and aesthetics are horrifying. They have screws everywhere and many of the products look like they were patched together out of found parts. It's unbelievable. Anyway.
Jonsbo, which offers its case under different names such as Cooltek and DIYPC, announced some new cases this year in the compact category. U1, U2, and U3. These are aluminum-alloy cases and come in Silver Black and Red.
These are the only cases I've seen that:
1) have no provision for a DVD player
2) have proportions that do not make you want to kick it
3) have a working airflow scheme
In addition the U series cases use space very efficiently. The U3 takes micro-ATX and a medium length graphics card, and can take a 160mm tower cooler. All major components get cooled properly.
I'm hoping they'll become more widely available here in the U.S.
