Full story: At one point in early march i was unable to log into steam. I dindn't really think much of it for i was into WOW at the time. After about a week i tried again, this time to play a race-game. No luck. It just kept returning unable to log in. So i tried to recover my password. No luck. I didn't recieve an e-mail. So I opened a ticket at steam. (now t he fun starts) I stated that my account was hacked (since i could see my account online and in game) and gave them my original e-mail adress. I got back an automated responce saying i should proof my ownership. Now, I gave them all my retail keys (Games with dvd) with a picture. I gave them all the humble bundle games i had in a screencap. After another week i got a response saying i should not buy steam accounts and that i should ask for a refund. The e-mail adress i opened the ticket with was the e-mail adress used while purchasing for over 2k worth of games. I still have all the tickets in my inbox. I even send them bank notes clearly stating i paid for the games.
I'm livid at steam support for dropping me like a stone. My account had 250+ games in it. and all my retail games are now useless.
TL;DR: Steam got jacked. Steal support thinks i stole/bought the account I proved the ownership with bank clip, e-mails i got from steam after purchasing a game, and retail codes with pictures of the box.
What can i do next? This has been dragging on for almost 2 months.
Ps. I did the recomended things like scan my pc for virusses and the like.
Pps. I tried to find a steam support phone number. They don't have one, so if anyone has GabeN's cell, PM it to me
That blows. Did you not have Steam Guard enabled? I would say keep trying. Open another ticket. Send a message to the Steam Support Twitter. Post your story on Reddit. Do whatever it takes. Get loud if you don't get results. They won't like the negative publicity.
Pretty much this. The only way to get Steam support is to post a thread in reddit and get 3000 upvotes and cause a general outrage. Such is the state of things.
Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately Steam is now a cesspit and it is downright hostile towards it's users. I'm pretty sure that their draconian EULA was written by demons with the blood from a newborn. You should know that you'd done fucked it up when EA have better costumer service and care than you do. But Steam haven't caught on yet. I have had only problems and was given run around when I have needed them to sort out a refund for a broken product. When I had the same happen on Origin they just said "Yes, sir. Your money will be back on your account in no time. We are sorry for the inconvenience".
Keep trying it may take a while to get through and meaningful progress at the moment, Steam is currently on fire over the Workshop debacle.
Keep trying, don't let up if you hit a dead end try again with a new ticket, Emailing Gabe is also an option he does read his emails but again the outrage over workshop is basically hammering all of Valves valid email addresses so it might take a while to get through the noise.
Be polite, be calm, co-operate where possible and if you don't understand what they are saying just ask them clearly.
This is unfortunately a bad time to deal with Steam. Don't let up, email every other day.
