I've been told to get a 550w but Gigabyte says otherwise

I am going to be running a 780ti, i5 4670k, all of my usb ports (10+) 2 SSDs, 1 HDD, 1 ODD and a corsair h80i

The specs for the 780ti say that it'll need a 600w psu but i've heard 550w will be fine.

What do you think?

550w should be enough but i would do what gigabyte says and grab a PSU above 550w to have headroom. i believe the good middle ground would be a 650w for a single GPU Setup and 850w PSU for a dual GPU setup. why you may ask? well an intel-based system and a single GPU will probably not pull more than 550w. however a 650w would be best to get if you wish to stay with a single GPU. cause you have a decent amount of headroom to power whatever else you may wish to add to your system. now if you wish to add a second GPU in the near future than you can consider 850w cause its more than enough power to power 2 GPUs and whatever you wish to add.

Thanks! I won't be adding anything else though as I have a mini itx board, i'll get the 650w now then :)

Kat is absolutely right. You can run a 4770 and a 780 on less than 450W but it is always good to give yourself some overhead to be same and leave upgrading room.

Just be sure the PSU is from a reputable brand, is 80+ Bronze Certified at a minimum, and provides enough amps on its 12V rail(s).
