i'm starting to get annoyed with CDPR every update just kills my performance. I am so bored on my birthday & want to play. it's the same with windows 7 & 10. I've tried every thing with no luck, is there anything that you guys can suggest to get a smooth fps & i'm not aiming for 60 cause that's not possible. ive played low with all post processing off, which is not changing anything.
There are ini files you can edit for greater control over the graphics options, thread about it here. Also check out http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Witcher_3 for various fixes and known issues if you encounter trouble. Great for game fixes.
If your using an nvidia GPU I would recommend using the gamesworks thing to auto set up your game based on your specs. Seems to work.
Whats your system specs?
Actually that is weirs. The last update for me actually improved it. If you use GOG galaxy you can de-grade the game to a previous version.

750w xfx psu
1TB 7200rpm hard drive
hard drive is 7 years old but would that be part of the my issues or not
That is strange you should be able to play it reasonably well with those specs are you using the latest graphics drivers and make sure nvidia hairworks and vsync is disabled.
I'd run a smart test on that drive to see if it's starting to die on you.
