Issues with Steam on Gentoo

I have decided to give Gentoo another try. Now I am trying to get Steam to work. I have installed it multiple times now through the overlay and it will always launch once but the second time I try to launch it, it starts loading but nothing happens. The log can be found here. Can anyone help?

Shameless self bump

I'm not familiar with Gentoo but I have a similar problem on Arch, I think it has something to do with the libraries. I found a package on Multilib called steam-native and launching steam from that instead of steam-manjaro worked perfectly.

Well on arch I'm using steam native as well so Ill try that once I get home (on friday) but I dont think that package existed in gentoo

Based on the log you posted, it's not a problem with dependencies. I'd have a look at Gentoo with a native runtime if I were you. It appears you're using the pre-bundled steam runtime and that's usually at least part of the problem.

Alrigth I'm finally home but there's a problem: I do not have a steam-native binary...

CHIDDeviceListSDL(): Couldn't load libSDL2-2.0.so.0, not enumerating devices

i would try to look into this

try to reinstall the SDL2 libs

I re-installed all packages related to sdl2 and it still doesnt work with pretty much the same error log. I'm thinking it might be something about my config with pulseaudio and alsa

Another shameless self-bump. Still haven't found the solution
