Hello everyone, as the topic states I am having some problems with my Sceptre HD TV. It's a 24inch 1080p TV I used to use for my gaming consoles but recently I took part in all the black Friday madness and got myself a nice 50 incher. So now I want to repurpose this 24 inch TV as a monitor for my gaming PC as I have been stuck in 1680x1050 land for quite some time.
The problem I have with this 24inch TV is that when I set it at it's native resolution (1080p) the desktop image stretches out past the borders of the screen. There's two sets of settings in the controls panel for the screens resolution there's PC settings and TV settings. The tv settings go all the way to 1920x1080 in a nice 16:9 aspect ratio, but the PC settings column only goes up to 1440x900, which correct me if I'm wrong is a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Now I seem to only experience this problem when this computer is connected to a PC, The image quality is crisp and clean when I had it connected to my Xbox 360 and PS3. I'd also like to note that this problem is consistent with both HDMI and VGA cable connections.
I've tried going to Sceptre's site to see if there are any drivers I could download, but their site is pretty bare and minimal and I wasn't able to find any type of driver support for their TV's. I want to know if there is any way possible to get this TV to display it's native resolution on my PC without doing any type of funky image stretching. The model of my tv is the Sceptre X240BV-FHD. Has anyone had this type of problem and what would be the best way to tackle this as I've tried messing around in the control panel and havn't found a solution yet. So I come to you guys one of the best communities around and ask for some assistance. Thanks everyone.
