Issues with deciding what to buy

I currently own a Acer Aspire AXC-603G-UW30 Desktop PC with Intel Celeron J1900 Processor, 4GB Memory, 500GB Hard Drive and Windows 8.1. Not even remotely the greatest Gaming Rig. I was on PCPartPicker and made this computer for scratch. I'm not the greatest with Computer compatibility, but i do know how to install one. Can you tell me if this is worth the price or can i get rid of some things and make a cheaper Gaming Rig. Money is a factor roughly $600 is my max.

Also if you could go to this link and make a computer and post it here so i can use it as a guideline that would be amazing. Thanks again!!!

A few issues, but the largest one is quite simple. There is a new generation of graphics cards literally within a month time.
Otherwise it's OK, with some tiny stuff here and there...
1. If you aren't going to overclock you can go with cheaper motherboard and cheaper cooler and loose nothing performancewise.
2. You don't really need that large of an SSD... You want your games on the SSD? You can't really use the speed bonus with the RAPID mode of the Samsung with games, the files are to large. So you can go with way cheaper ones.
3. For god's sake, get yourself a decent case... Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, etc big hardware brands are making crap cases. Phanteks, some NZXT, some Fractal Design, some Bitfenix... Get yourself good case with good dust filtering and a few extra fans, set them all at low speed and have good cooling with low noise.
4. Do you really need a blue ray drive? Really?

EDIT:
OK, Here it is for 650$ without a GPU with a couple of discounts and rebates...
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hTHDCJ
AMD FX 8350
CM 212 Evo
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 R5
Kingston HyperX Fury 2x8GB 1600MHz (black)
A-Data Premier SP550 480GB SSD
Seagate Baracuda 2TB
Seasonic G 550W 80+ gold
Phanteks Enthoo Pro M
2 x Fractal Design Silent Series R2 140mm fans...
Wait for the GPU a couple of weeks...
Meanwhile, i took some time to make sure all things are black and white, and you have a window, so you may want to check out black and white / gray / silver GPUs...
Monitor, keyboard and mouse, etc etc...

Maybe he is one of the few people who like to watch BluRays on their PC like I do.

Lord no.

Also wait for polaris if you don't have steady extra cash, it'll probably give you 390 performance at around 200-250 at half the wattage.

You could also drop to an i5 6500 if you're just gaming, if you want the 8 threads on the cheap it's about 200 for an 8300 + 970A-G/3.1 motherboard

i suggest waiting for the new gpu's to lower prices and ofc new ones. a 1070 is supposed to outpreform a 980 for under 300 and you only need to save 100$ more in the next month to get one.

if thats not a option i got it down to bare bones without cutting too much productivity.

Now would these specs you gave me be able to support a Elgato Game Capture card as well.

***Fredrich i like your setup but i have issues with Unable to verify the MSI Ravager ATX Mid Tower Case and the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler are compatible. & The case as no price

The 8350 is 8 core with 8 threads. It can easily record gameplay or whatever without much of a performance hit at all...
I mean I easily record 1080/30 with 760k quad core, and 8350 is WAY better...
Also keep in mind you will need GPU...
I think there should not be any issue with the capture card, but I am not familiar with it, nor does it have any requirements or whatever...

How about doing a base build now using a an i5 6500 or similar. That way you get a good CPU and no immediate need to buy a GPU as you jave the inbuilt gpu of the CPU. Save for a month or two and then decide what GPU to get depending on the new models and prices etc.

At this point in time I personally would not get an AMD FX proc as it is such old architecture and you often need to spend more on cooling and motherboard than you would for Intel.

Strongly disagree... Don't tell me Intel CPUs are cooler. They are also hot as hell.
Also the UD3 board in my build is kind of the high end for the FX CPUs.
Now I agree, that the CPUs are way way slower and probably in the long run the i5 will be better investment overall. The games nowadays rarely use more than 4 cores, so again the i5 in gaming will be a better offer, no matter it's more expensive. But don't give me price for cooling and motherboard as a reason to go Intel. Nor the age. Intel can still offer me only dual core with good task management for the price of 8 core amd...

You're quite entitled to :-)

Ok Psycho i've decided to go with your route. I want to stay away from Intel. But with that build can i upgrade more ram or graphics in the near future.

& you didn't even link a graphics card in that build.

If I must be objective, that build is really limited when it comes to upgradability. The 8350 is being outperformed by the i5 in general. Intel allows more options for both upgrading and customisation.
Now I haven't linked any graphics card, because amd will announce their new generation graphics cards at 26-th or 28-th this month... And by the middle of June they should be everywhere, alongside the high end Nvidia cards, since Nvidia haven't announced any mid range cards
I strongly recommend waiting for the new generation GPUs...

it's the same case from your original post which also doesnt have a price. i assumed you already bought it?

and the 212 is 6.3 inches tall and the width of the case is 8.03 inches. even with the mobo, you'll be fine.

also the new games are using more and more cores, which means the 8 core 8350 is actually doing better in games now, then when it came out and no games supported all 8 of it's cores. while it doesnt compare to the top shelf intel's, you can afford them either.
in games that only work with 1-4 cores, intel will be a better buy, but cost more as they have better individual per core performance. but in games that can use 4+ cores, the 8 core 8350>a 4 core locked intel within your price range.

TL;DR some mostly older games intel will have a slightly better frame rate, but in many modern games and future games an 8350 + 280 will outpreform a locked i5 + a cheaper gpu since the i5 will cost more.

My main issue with the FX lineup is that basically 380/960 is their maximum before they start holding the GPU back... I mean with 980/390X there is a difference between i5 and 8350... With 380/960 calibre card there is no difference, because the gpu is fully utilized.

honestly id just bite my lip and await AMDs new releases, you would proberly have to shell out more, but you would get ALOT better hardware with their 14nm lines. If you cannot wait until then go intel, so 6-8 core lines from AMD is just overkill at the moment, since DX11 simply dont use more then 4 cores, and you get alot less performance pr. core.
Regardless of where AMD starts their prices, intel, or NVIDIA will have to drop their prices to compete, not to mention DX12 games are comming out where AMD just dominates, with no comparrison, even NVIDIAs new flagship card only beats AMDs old one by roughly 5-10 fps.
Since you're currently running a celeron i get your pain, but the deadline is close >.<.

I know you guys have been giving me incrible information, but i'm still completely blindsided on all these parts and what's compatible & what's the best for my buck

i'm just thinking i will go with

AMD System Parts list:
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K (US):
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-H (US): save up for an i3 i5 6400 or 6500, or i7
GPU: AMD R9 380 (US):
RAM: PNY Performance 4GB DDR3 (US): 8gb of ram,
HDD: 500Gb 7200 RPM (US): and 1tb of storage instead of 500gb.
PSU: Apevia ATX-CB500W (US):
CASE: Rosewill SRM-01 (US):

It's roughly only $395 minus the extra upgrades. I'm completely a idiot when it comes to what i need, Unless you physically show me the specs i need i won't know what's good or not

here's the thing. if you do that, you'll have to buy a new copy of windows when you upgrade to a different socket.

also you need a psu with more power. 500 watts isnt enough to future proof with such a large power draw form your gpu.

edit fixed spelling

2 ways to go with AMD.
APU with your old HD PSU etc and build up your game collection. Then get a 400 series GPU.
8 core FX build. On this unless your really flush with cash get the cheapest 8 core (8320e) AND the cheapest MB you can get that has atleast a 970 chipset. A year to 18 months after Zen comes out you may wish you had the 179 bucks you spent on that MB for an upgrade. If you go with an 8320 over an 8320e wait on the cpu cooler. The e model has the crappy aluminum cooler. The regular 8320 has a nice heatpipe cooler, basically a wraith cooler without the fancy paint and pretty wire.
I have the crappy aluminum cooler with my 8320e. Right now it works cause it is a BEAST of a cpu for 1080 work. I just used the MB overclock. Press D and get an extrat 10 percent or so performance. I don't see a problem later on getting 4 ghz out of it with a 4+1 powerphase. If it is worth it to spend allot to jam over 250 watts to see how close to 5 mhz you can push it by all means spend the cash on the primo MB.
I am a huge AMD fan. Having said that if you see a great sale on I3 6100 w/MB check it out. Take your time and check out reviews.
Blue ray drive? You can get that later:)
SSD If your using an old Win7 install disk I would wait on this. You can buy it later if you decide you wan't to upgrade to win 10.
Actually you can keep the old HD also
The point I am trying to make is you may decide later that what you really want is a bigger monitor or you found the one game you REALLY love where an SSD will be just fine with your old 500 gb HD.
What monitor do you have and what games are you interested in. Some games really like one platform over another.

You can usually call microsoft and tell them you've upgraded your computer and they'll fix you up just fine.

And yeah that power supply is pretty garbage, although 500w shouldn't be too bad for future upgrades since everything's pretty power efficient now.

and then microsoft will tell you to talk to the manufacturer not them, unless you buy the more expensive builders key which this guy probably isnt going to.

oem key="for manufacturer's" so no customer support or help when you have a problem. they'll do that for you if you got a more expensive builders key but then you are paying at least 120$ for it instead of around 20-30$ from an internet back alley.
