Issue with type-c kvm

Hi,

I recently purchased a dual displayport 1.4 usb-c kvm from level1. While the displayport switching works, the type-c connection is not recognised on either pc, i have tried with multiple cables, from rode, owc, apple, each time the kvm shows the green/yellow on the switch indicator, but input is not detected on connected PC/laptop.

Help.

Ok… so plot thickens.

  • Type-C header on the MB works, but not the one on rear I/O? (Asus X570 TUF WIFI PRO)
  • Mouse works in the front HID port of the KVM, but none of the HID ports on the rear? (Razer Naga Pro)
  • Keyboard only works if passed through on one of the USB3 ports (Ducky One2SF)

the hid ports are meant for hid devices. if the keyboards or mice do weird stuff (i.e. become not a hid device) then it won’t work. they will work fine on usb3 ports, and a hub will work fine with the usb3 ports as well.

others have reported ducky keyboards work with the kvm, though if you are doing keyboard shortcuts, you need to disable nkey rollover. otherwise it should passthrough okay.

Thanks @wendell

I’m going to try disabling nkey rollover as suggested, and also updating keyboard firmware. Will report back.

HI @wendell,

I have a Ducky One 3 TKL, Updated the firmware to 1.11. Tried all ports on my 4x2 1.4 KVM, Tried with n-key on and off. And I am unable to get the keyboard to work. I have found that Windows does not detect the keyboard.

The KVM is connected to a USB 3.0 Port on a AMD B550 Mobo

Please let me know if you have any thoughts?

Thanks

nvm, found only works on usb 3 ports, i didnt hear it connect because i bummed my dac…
