Is TV Stupidity making it's way onto the internet?

Hey Everyone!

I have a quick question. I sometimes follow Youtubers on facebook if I want to see more content from them (E.g. Matt Dillahunty who always has something interesting to say). One of the Youtubers I am following posted a link to a show that he is participating in, so I decided to check it out.

To my HORROR!!!!!...... I found it to be cheesy TV styled quick hook up show (or something along the lines of that. I had to turn it off as I began losing brain cells rapidly!). I don't watch TV since the majority of content available on it  is not appealing, entertaining and is intellectually unstimulating (The only time I see it is when I visit somebodies house who watches TV), however I have noticed that a lot of these brainless shows are making their way over to Youtube and other video sharing websites.

Do you think content on websites such as Youtube are going to become dumbed-down over time? Especially since more and more broadcasting stations make their way over to the internet. The more I think about it the more I think I've answered my own question, but still I would like to here your opinions on the subject.

Yours Sincerely

Lost Soul \M/

Sadly it will soon.  See everytime something takes off successfully, it sees amazing and revolutionaly and the best thing in the world.  But when corporations see that they can make some money out of it.  They get involved with it and because they are a corporation, they want to make as much money as possible by increasing their profit.  That's where all this garbage from TV is coming from.  Quick cheap garbage churned out quick to make some money. I believe on youtube it's already starting but let's hope it dies quick.

Well there are always incredibly stupid people on the internet. I think TV and reality TV is just an incredible type of weapons grade stupid.

Well the great thing about the internet is that you are not forced to watch it. You always go elsewhere. There will be a much smaller audience because when there were TV channels were a very small selection. People really did not have much else to watch. Nowadays there is more video content on you tube than one person can watch.
