Is this thermal paste okay to use?

http://tinyurl.com/mlhbksj This is really cheep thermal paste, so I'm worried about using it. Does price really matter with this sort of thing? I've never bought/used thermal paste, and I'm clueless about which brand will work best. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ehhh, looks pretty sketchy, but I'm sure it isn't terrible. I guess I'd be concerned about the quality of it, mostly how it spreads/ how long it lasts, the reviews seem promising. Imo I would recommend trying to pay a tad more.

Okay, thank you, Al. Nice hat btw :b

In my experience, most thermal paste performs about the same really.  But if you're iffy about it, you can get some arctic silver for like 2 bucks more, so it's not like there is a drastic difference in price.

I reccomend MX-2 cheap and is the baseline for good performance. I don't recommend using arctic silver.

"Well, this is interesting, the most famous TIM company doesn’t make very good TIM"

"Arctic Silver 5, the most popular and most acclaimed paste on the market.  And it’s basically rubbish."

Okay thank! I bought the MX-2 today.

ok good!

Any thermal paste is good to use, worst case scenario is that it dries out too quickly and you'll have to reapply it. The difference in performance between different pastes is not worth the difference in price, a few degrees here and there won't make any significant difference.

Unless, of course, you are an overclocker with OCD, but heavy overclocking is impractical anyway, you are paying way more for a better motherboard and cooling than you are getting performance out of it.

"CPU Heatsink Heat Sink"

would not buy.
