Is this power consumption rating correct?

My question is if the estimated power consumption figure is correct for this particular build

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tbCfWZ

Reason I ask is because I've modeled just about the same build on Newegg.com's wattage calculator and I get something around 550 watts instead of what is given with PcPartpicker.

Note: this is my personal build right now minus the GPU. The GPU selected is something I wish to upgrade to for the new release of Fallout 4 as I currently have an Asus GTX 660... as well as GTA V

Yeah, 350W is more like it. In fact, if you don't overclock, system power consumption under a game load would be closer to 250W.

Yeah pc partpicker is more accurate, remember, newegg is trying to sell you a product so of course they'll say more.

I'd probably grab a 500 or similar anyway, overhead doesn't hurt, and they're not very expensive.

agreed, while pc partpicker is accurate for the power draw, a 500w power supply has what's necessary for a graphics card.

Sweet, so my current 550 watt should be good for the 970 then, correct?

most likely, is it brand name?

Yes, it's a Silverstone 550 watt semi-modular rated 80+ Bronze

yeah that'll do just dandy.
