Do you guys think this is a good deal? I'm not looking to spend much more than this, and don't really know if there are much better combinations for around the same price.

for that price its seems pretty good. but that mobo dosent support crossfire, dunno if that matters to u. also its foxconn, there quality hasent been great this few years. but it does have good reviews
I am not in favor of the Foxconn motherboard at all.. they have been really shitty lately
Crossfire isn't a big deal. I plan on running a GTX 260. What CPU + mobo combo would you guys suggest without spending too much over $200?
This one http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.147023 $236
or this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.144174
$165
Note: this first one has sli mobo.
Thanks a lot for your fast responses :) Think the AMD Quad is good?
If it were my pick i would go with the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130161 because you can get the hybrid power on board graphics card and just shut down your graphics card when your not using it
Well, to answer ur question simpley. No.
But for their price to performance wise they are great.
But performance wise they are no where compareable to intel quads
Yea i mean the only thing you could say to intel users, like my self, is that you have the only True quad core, because Intel's quads are basically 2 dou's smashed together.
So would I be better off getting a good intel dual core than this quad?
I think you would be happier if you did plus you could spend a lil more somewhere else because its mainly the graphics card you should worried about if your gaming that is.

or you could get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115038 that cpu its all up to you either way your set up will be good
Oh btw i have the same Mobo and its been great soo
really depends on wat ur doing. if ur gonna game, u should go with that E8400, if ur rendering, editing movies and stuff. Get the Q6600 same, price as E8400 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017
well, consider this. if you plan on overclocking, get the q6600 and take that baby to 3.0. if you wont overclock, just get the e8400
the e8400 can acutally go up to 4GHz very easily
true, but, whats the difference between 3 and 4 ghz in games on 2 cores? maybe a lot, at least in some games. and in others, it probably doesnt matter
actually, this is what you should be thiking. future games will use 4 cores. whtas better, 4 cores at 3ghz or 2 cores at 4? thats 12ghz vs. 8. 12ghz wins
yes, future games are gonna be quads. that would be a good choice to make
