List of Parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Joemcgee/saved/33Fl
Hello, I'm currently planning to build a PC for editing and recording/streaming gameplay. My budget is $1350 in USD. I will be needing peripherals. I'm planning to overclock. Gaming wise I'm wanting to play games like Minecraft, Garry's Mod, Call of Duty Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and Crysis 3 (I would prefer to play them on high settings at 1080p at 30fps or above.) Rendering/editing wise I'll use Sony Vegas to edit and render footage and Photoshop for thumbnails on YouTube.
I prefer mechanical keyboards (specifically cherry mx brown) and the style mouse-grip I have is palm. Monitor wise I won't need one.
Parts that I will not change my mind on are the: Fractal Design Define R4, MSI z87-G45 Gaming, and the G.Skill Sniper 16gb (8x2) 1866mhz ram. Also I will only use a Nvidia GPU (I'm not biased, it's just I plan to get a GSync monitor in the future and plan to use Shadowplay to record my gameplay.)
PS: Thank you for the help in advance :)
Looks good to me. I personally would get an amd gpu for gaming and editing, but you seem to specifically need an Nvidia gpu for gsync and everything.
many editing programs are now taking cuda capability and implementing it like premier pro and many others so i would go nvidia unless using sony vegas. also i would go for a fx-8350 for a marginal performance difference to increase the ammount you can spend on a gpu also haswell runs quite hot if you plan to overclock i would get an fx 8350 or a 3570k because haswell does have some issues when overclocking due to heat. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2fM4e my recommendation will get more performance for your money its a slight increase in price but you get a way better card.
I may be wrong here, but can't Sony Vegas 11 and Adobe Premier Pro CS6 + also use OpenCL for GPU acceleration? Rendering the need for nVidia pointless except for G-Sync?
Sony Vegas can actually render with CUDA it renders with OpenCL by default (you can set it to use CUDA only if available).
Ok so I've decided to go with bmin2709's suggestion. This is my first build (and I'm 14) so this will be a milestone and a learning experience. Also tell me if you would like to see a build log or pictures of it when finished.
Again thank you everyone for your help!
