Is this a solid BASIC College student Build?

So, I am going to be building computer for college students and wanted to be able to show the difference in what I can build them versus what they can get in the store for the same or better price.
I tried to cover all the bases: OS, Keyboard/Mouse, Monitor, Optical media drive (in this case a BD/DVDRW drive so they can watch Blurays.
I assumed the student would not be doing heavy gaming and assumed the dorm rooms are small.
I made sure to include Wireless AC and BT4.0
I also tried to ensure all parts had at least a 3 year warranty. Some are less but are till good parts.

I am not assuming they are a gamer but have included in each build a decent card for casual gaming and the case can support up to a 7990 GPU (in size).

one thing that i've learn for college, you want to go cheap. PC's are not important as much as laptops... get laptop that can play games decently (amd apu?) and a lot of storage for porn i mean study. Study is what I meant, and or anime.

here is a "weaker" build w/o the Dedicated GPU on Intel:

just go for laptop. If you go into college you won't have time to sit on pc... get decent usb mouse and keyboard, some external hdd and rock in cafeteria with your new college friends.

I dont think you understand what I am doing. I am building computers for people in College. I already have 2 degrees. I am well aware about college. But some students love desktops and have a laptop. Some students want a desktop.

ah; didn't read much :) sorry about that.

I'd pick amd one cause its cheaper; but then again you could probably pick one for 400-500 and it would be good enough.

but would it include the monitor, kb/mouse, and OS?

yeah, i'd rather not pay for os. gib 'em linux.

But.......this is college where they have you install this BS software for school. Math is no longer a written thing. It is all software based.

yeaah maybe since they are in college and are tech savvy; some loaders would do the job for windows instead of buying up it.
