Mother of god.
And I'd suggest the Titan over dual 7970s. Sounds crazy, I know, but the thing is, sli and xfire don't play nicely with some games.
A $3000 build for gaming? Are you crazy? That is massive overkill. You want a mini ITX build so it will be more portable? You can still fit it well under your budget and max out everything until crysis 4 comes out.
Its a at home gaming rig not portable
Ehhh a titan is not in what i want at all just because for now i do plan on just using the one 7970 and wont upgrade for quite awhile
Well, at that price point, you can have a mini ITX build like this one, that is just as powerful as a standard ATX one.

My problem with that though is the cpu is a LGA1155 Which is going to not exist in the next socket but LGA2011 will still be updated
I believe 2011 is dead as well, actually.
Its not, IB-E will be on socket 2011.
M-ITX is pointless unless you absolutely need the portability, Ill throw a build together for you when im finished editing all my photos.
well the thing is if you have a $3000 dollar budget you should really have more than a 7970
the gpu is the heart of a gaming machine
maybe a 7990?
I might be switching to two GTX 680s
Single cards are best.
For the price of two 680s, why not just get a titan?
