Hey guys I'm planning on building my first system and the part two galaxy GeForce 660 tis factory overclocked or two 760s superclocked acx cooling unit, a 4770k, a h80i, the nzxt phanton, asus sabertooth z87 tuf series board, we'd 1tb hdd, Corsair vengeanc. 2x4gb 2133( if anyone can dsemd me a link to a 8gb stick othree same ram it be appreciated, on. Toger direct), ultra x4 modular silver 1050 watt power supply,

and this monitor. Ill be using this rig mainly for 1080p gaminI for the most demanding titles on the very highest settings and I want 45+fps, I also might do some cad areedit ing video and plan to keep it for 3 years, the gpu I might jusdwell when the 800 series comes out and get some money bac. And get the latest and greatest the CPU ill upgrade in a few generations(2-3) so skylake or skymont. Ill get more ram later and get an ssd later as well when prices drop by a significant amount from where they are now. I forgot to mention ill be buying all this at tigerdirect because its a lot cheaper then new egg aill ill be over clocking as well so will the sabetooth motherboard restrict my overclockinh capabilities. I also need to sell my gaming laptop, its a clevo p37eek so if anyone knows any websites that take that brand, its only a couple months ol. But I'm stitching to desktop.
well i would go with the I7-4770k Asus sabertooth is ofc a great board. also for overclocking. 2x4GB 1866 G-skill snipers are great ram.
but why do you wanne buy 2 GTX760´s?a EVGA GTX 770 super clocked is arround 420 dollars..
Why sli for 1080p gaming and editing? Save some cash and grab a decent single card. Then you can lower the psu, spend more perhaps on a bigger and better screen with a pretty resolution.
The sabretooth wont hamper your overclocking abilities, you could get the same clocks with a much cheaper board, they do look good though. The achilles heel in haswell overclocking is the cpu itself with it's heat output.
because two 760s perform much better then a 770 or a 780 and its only 80buck more expensive then the 770 and around 130 cheaper then the 780.
A single card solution is always a better choice than two weaker cards.
The reason for sli is because I want the highest settings And in games like metro 2033 I will not get 30 fps a 770 is only 80 bucks cheaper, well maybe like a 100 and the price to performance ratiO with two 760s is quite high. also i haven't found so 1600p monitor for less then 300 bucks that's a dollar differenc. Between the one I chose now, also if you anythi g about this mnitor that i chose please give me a review of it or just your opinion. Also I just really like how the board looks and the power delivery is also very nice its alscollier then most boards. I'm not really going to overclock that much because I mean what difference will it make in game, your bottleneck is the gpu if anytsang I should get a water block for my graphics cards and just use a air cooler for my CPU. if I am going to run two 760s and over clopc them and maybe my CPU is 800 watts too much, could I get away with 650 or 700 watt psu.
But why when I look at benchmarks and synthetic benchmarks two 760s blow the 770 out of the water and are just slightly under the Titan and maybe in par with 780 maybe just a bit less in fps on the same settings.
A single card is better, not in terms of raw performance, but in terms of lower power consumpnion, low frame times, microstutturing, game support, driver stability, heat, and overall, everything.
