So I've decided to collect some money (It's gonna take awhile though >.>) and buy a new PC because my sister is trying to steal it from me...Yes, that info is not necessary, but, is this a good set/build?
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tuxU Yes, with a Razer keyboard >> So, total is around $685 without the accessories and about $630 without the soundcard. So, is this a good build? Or do I need to change something? Thanks in advance though ^^
thats a lot of cash for accesoires. I'd buy a more expensive Motherboard, with some more options and durability, buy a better graphics card maybe and maybe some faster ram (from what i've gathered it makes a real difference on AMD systems)
you might want to check out the amd phenom II x4 965 (should cost about the same and will be a little fater out of the box. i have the 955 myself ad have had no problems so far, it runs very smooth on 3.8 Mhz would wait a little with cpu cooler, sound card and other little things so you can buy a little better motherboard, so the next time you have room for expantion. you prob. want to add an extra video card in the future and perhaps an ssd to take full advantage of your cpu and mem.
(you prob dont need a sound card at all, unless you have a studio or are otherwise involved in sound. for gaming and movie watching the onboard is more then enough)
Faster ram only makes a difference on AMD's APUs and only if you're using the onboard GPU.
Maybe pick up an ASRock 970 Extreme 3 for about the same price. I wouldn't bother with the soundcard if you're just going to be playing games or if you don't have some baller audio equipment. Save some money and stick with onboard.
there really is no purpose in having a dedicated sound card, if you want higher quality sound just use optical from the motherboard, or HDMI sound output from the GPU
also buying windows is kind of pointless since its easier to pirate it instead of dealing with excessive amounts of inane bullshit you have to fill out just to register it, not to mention cheaper
theres really no reason to legally buy windows 7, its more effort to fill out registration and it costs a lot, not to mention there is literally no advantage to buying it
Personally I would pirate windows and and then use the extra money for a better graphics card. Considering the price of windows you could get higher AMD/Nividia card. Always check benchmark scores though to see which ones are better the the price points.
