the num lock light on my keyboard is really bright, anyone know a way to trick it into thinking num lock is off when it's on I never use the num pad for anything else.
A soldering iron.... there may be software to change it. not sure.
A software solution is preferable
Would it be too much for you to obstruct it with electrical tape or some other object?

Perhaps a sharpie to obstruct some of the light?
Of course its going to have a blue-ish glow on it.
I was more looking for a sofrtware solution, but it seems there is none, I wonder how hard that would be to make?
