Is there a recommendable linux compatible camcorder, or a way to pull data off a sony CX405?

ive got a sony CX405 that ive ben using for a few years now. do yall have any ideas to pull the AV data off it under linux? under windows i have to use playmemories home. last time i tried, i only got that software to launch via WINE, but never got the software to see the camera.

failing that, can yall recommend a camcorder that will work under linux? ive got a 128gb micro sd xc card that id like to still use with it, and im happy with 1080p res.

does the camera volume shows in lsblk?
Maybe try running dmesg -w and connecting the camera, paste the result of the last lines here

i couldnt get the 1sblk command to work, but i did see the camera when i ran dmesg -w

sorry, it is lsblk the first letter is lower case L

ah. yes, im seeing the cameras storage with that command

ok, mount it

mkdir cam; mount [camera device] cam

and use f-spot to download the videos from the device.

ok, i believe its been mounted because i can see the folders in the file manager. but this mint install im using doesnt have f-spot, and i cant seem to find it for download. so i guest ill have to try something else
