Is there a RAID for this?

I have two drives. Each one is 128GB with a data access average of 72MB/s. The drives alone are too small to install Linux on and have a decent amount of space for storage. My goal is a Windows/Linux dual-boot machine. I know that I'll be using the most space on the Windows install, so it has the 1TB drive dedicated to it. But I'm wondering I there's a way to make these two 128GB drives read as one, continuous 256GB drive? Or will I have to just install the OS on one drive and have the second one just mounted as additional storage?

Raid 0 or use a spanned volume.

Remember that you are doubling your chance of drive failure.

Raid JBOD?

Well, what's the benefit of JBOD in his case? Both drives have the same size. If one fails the volume is bricked anyway, but with RAID0 he at least has an increased speed. Or am I missing something?

No you can save some of the data from a spanned volume. Not all but some at least

Than it is for @Schyken to decide what he prefers.

He wanted to combine the drives together to make one volume. Raid 0 or JBOD are his only options for what he wants to do. JBOD just lowers the odds of failure from my understanding.

Yeah that's basically what I meant. Either increased speed, or increased safety.

I'll go with RAID 0. There's not many options, and I'm not doing anything that will require caring about data loss. Thank you all for the help!

RAID 0 is the one that does increase the odds of lossing data man...

please educate yourself before making a decision.

I just said I wont be doing anything that requires caring about data loss. Educate myself? Maybe try reading?

Raid 0 increases the likelihood of data loss man lol. Like I said please educate your self. And maybe you should read too.

I know it increases the chance of data loss. I'm not worried about data loss. I've said it twice now.

After one time raid 0 ruins your week. You will change your mind on a no going back solution.
