I am studying for the CompTIA Network +. I am wondering, is there a hybrid of Static and Dynamic Routing? Thought there is, but not sure.
Sticky static, they’re assigned via DHCP, but the lease doesn’t expire for the end point.
The question sounds theoretical and I’m not sure what the correct answer for the test would be. But out here in the real world, what’s known as dynamic routing algorithms, are just ways to propagate route information and network reachability information from one router to the other. The routes computerd by these algorithms supplement those configured by a human, aka static routes. Typically, it’s a human that also configures routes in dynamic routing as well, it’s just that they propagate automatically through the network.
