Is the titan worth it?

Is the gtx titan worth it? I can also get a 690, or 680 sli. Something makes me want to get the titan though as sli can have micro stutter problems, right?

Short answer: no. It's a niche product. you will get much better value with SLI 680's. Micro-stuttering becomes less apparent with faster GPU's, and can almost be eliminated entirely with 3-way SLI (possibly 670's?).

i would say it's to soon to say, i would wait for the drivers for it to mature a bit more first, it still on beta drivers. so yeah

If you want to do 4-way SLI, the Titan is the way to go, If you want a single card, get the 690, if you want 2-way SLI get the 680's. tl;dr 680's would be my first choice, 690 second.

tinytom logan says no... you are wrong.

titan over 690

Pretty sure the Titan can only do 3 way SLI, but anything over the 500$ mark or absolute highest end of the video card market will show you diminishing returns, a 7970Ghz edition or 680 will give you 70% of the performance at 35-45% of the cost.

The GTX 690 is Priced around the same but beats the Titan in games that scale decently, although 1 GPU is always better for more consistent performance, for the Money 2 GTX 680's will definitley best the Titan unless there is some issue with SLI (which is much more rare now)

So in the End for what you get Performance per Dollar wise id go with the GTX 680's in SLI

690 > Titan.

680 SLI > 690.

7970 Crossfire > 680 SLI.

AMD imo has it locked down as far as dual cards go. It's not an opinion about 7970s beating 680s though.  Which seems weird since a single 680 has a bit of an edge over a 7970. fuk it. Titans to me their only use is bragging rights, and running them in SLI for super overkill-ness.

If you ever plan on getting more Titans, it is worth it, but otherwise, I would get dual or triple 7970s. I will be SLIing my 680 4GB, but dual 7970s would be better for the money.

well with the official 7990 coming out, it will be cheaper than the current OEM 7990s and be able to crossfire

and the current 7990s already outperform titan, so no its not worth it
