Is the Phenom 965 BE good?

I could buy a phenom 965 or a athlon 860k but idk which one is better for gaming

Athlon X4 860K all day any day is better than the Phenom II X4 965 BE.

The Phenom, although damn good for its day, is six years old now and the Athlon X4 860K is only a year and a half. The Athlon will also be much easier to cool and will support more modern features than the Phenom.

r u sure

Thay are both outdated dead sockets...are you building a pc?

Have a butchers hook at this!

Cpu boss? realy?

I guess so????! Half asleep, so could do better, perhaps!!! :O)

have u guys ever owned the cpus or r u just guessing the performance cuz i really want a concrete answer

I've owned a 965BE and a 760K which is basically the same.

The 860K is a better option. The 965, while good, even now, is out classed by the 860K in the budget realm. Go with that or spend more and go Intel.

i cant go intel cause im buying this shit on ebay for 50 dollars used

Are you building a gaming PC? What is your budget?

The phenom 965 is indeed a very good cpu (for its time) it was a true 4 core cpu that oced well however it lacks new cpu instruction sets that games use the athlon 860k is around on par with this cpu and is only in essence a dual core it has worse per single core performance but has new instruction sets better ram controller but both are now outdated.

If you are looking to build on the cheap end a i5 4460 and a cheaper end motherboard is still the best price to performance ratio for gameing

u know cooperman fuck u the question is bettween a fucking 860k and a phenom 965 not a recommendation for a intel cpu

Well fuck you then buddy go smoke some poles

I think you should change your attitude a bit.
cooperman was just trying to help right?

Chill out. We are just trying to help. We already gave you your answer.

We could help out more if you told us what this was for and your budget.

I asked for a comparison bettween a 860k and a phenom 965 and these guys are fucking asking me what my budget is

look i dont have a fucking budget i am just bidding on both cpus on ebay and idk which one to go for

Well... In that case... I suggest that you get an AMD K6-2. That was my first ever CPU and it was great. It's nowhere near as fast as your two options, but it can be used for other things.. Like a paper weight, or a keychain, or maybe even a very unpleasant toilet paper substitute.

I hope this helps! I love helping.
