Is the 970 chipset worth the extra money over the 760g? (newbie who needs help!)

The title kind of says it all! Is the 970 chipset on amd motherboards worth the extra money and what benefits does it provide?

22 PCIe 2.0 lanes so you can have at max

1 X16 slot

1 X4 slot

2 X1 slots

(1 GPU only, but room for some PCIe accessories)

2600Mhz max Hyper Transport (good for overclocking)

DDR3 1866 max memory standard (fastest memory available for AMD boards w/o OC)

Southbridge: SB950/SB920 (no idea the difference really but this controls your I/O)

if you aren't planning on getting SLI/Crossfire this is as good as AM3+ boards get

you can have multiple GPUs on 970, but it will run at PCI-E 2.0 X8 instead of X16

is that the only main difference?
