I bought FTL today so i was playing that a little. Then i watched a video about graphics settings for arma 3 but when i go to load arma 3 it crashes and or hangs before any of the loading screens come up. SO i tried other games bf3(origin) works fine so does farcry 3(uplay). But i tried saints row the third, arma 3, and bioshock infinite. The only two big games that i have installed that i have on steam. Now the only weird thing is that if i choose the option to run saints row the third in direct x 9 it runs fine(well it loads to the main menu). What can i do to fix it.
I don't know what to suggest other than that you can right-click the game in your library, go to Properties, then in the window that comes up there's an option to verify your local game files. Do that and it will make sure none of the files are missing or currupted.
I don't see why it would be a steam problem. You are trying to play a game that is in beta, you can't expect it to run without problems.
It's more likely caused by your system configuration. Do you have the most up to date drivers ?
Also since it is in beta there is probably a crash log or something. Try to find it and google the error you get. If it doesn't have a log then maybe windows event viewer has a report of it crashing. There are probably other people out there that have had the same proble and have it fixed. Or if not then contact the developers, maybe they want to fix this problem.
I didnt realize that bioshock and saints row were in beta still.
Sorry about that, I read it rather quickly and misunderstood.
But in that case check windows event viewer, they might show up there or maybe your antivirus log.
