It's definitely worth it. I've already put in about 90 hours into the game, and I'm still no where near completing it.
it's worth it, you also have a large access to mods in the steam workshop.

Chivalry: Midieval Warefare just went on sale, 50% off, $12.50. I've never played it, but I know there are some in this community that play.
I've been playing Planetside 2 a bit recently. Free to Play, but there's definitely $10-40 worth of cool stuff to buy in that game.
If you enjoy involved singleplayer games, check out Dishonored or Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
I went ahead and got Skyrim, I'm gonna make some mods on it. Probably a house or two
