Is PfSense Legit?

Second, I dig their stuff.

There’s now rewards of up to $500,000 for zero day security flaws discovered in FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, and Linux. Pfsense runs on FreeBSD, so there’s even more incentive to get eyeballs on that base source code now.

“Zerodium is known for buying zero-days and selling them to government agencies and law enforcement;” … “We may also react to customers’ requests and their operational needs,”

it sounds like the zero-days are not made public to make the OS more secure, but sold to organizations with, probably, the opposite intention.
