I have an A10 6800k with a 7870 gpu and 8 gigs of ram. Should this be enough to play DayZ (the mod OR the standalone) at low or medium FPS?
should be fine I have never used a apu as the cpu but the fx 4300 does fine. The cpu and ram mainly affect your fps form my experience but I would say it should be good.

That should play it fine, though bear in mind most people have some issues right now no matter what set up they have with it being an alpha. My frames have felt pretty good however (7870 with an 8350 at 1900x1200 pretty highish settings ).
Buy the Standalone, and play in 720p/900p you should be fine.
