Is my PSU good enough

Hello everyone, new to the forum, so hello!

I’m looking to upgrade my PC and I’m wondering whether my current PSU will be ok to use in the build or will I need to upgrade it. The current PSU is a CX750 is 80 PLUS Bronze the other components will be as follows;

Motherboard - MSI Z170A GAMING M7
CPU - Intel Core i7 6700K, S 1151, Skylake
Cooling - Corsair Hydro Series H110i GT
Card - 6GB EVGA GTX 980 Ti SC+ ACX 2.0+,
RAM - 32GB (4x8GB) Corsair DDR4
Monitor - 28" Acer Predator XB280HK 4K2K G-Sync LED

It's fine.

Thank you!

More then fine in fact.

how do you work it out?

Figure out how much that gpu and cpu draw for power in thier specs then add a bit for fans and other stuff in your system.

Thank you

Should be fine basicly.
Its not the best psu in the world, but basicly it should hold.

OP spends ~2400$ on system but gets a 100 dollar PSU.

facepalm..

So? I've been using the same PSU for over three years now and never had a single issue.

It's not really a problem per-se but it's just kind of funny if you think about it. Spending all that money on the highest end parts but skimping out on the unit that powers it all. Especially it being only bronze certified. If it were my build I would at least go Gold rated, maybe even Platinum for that high end of a build.

I see your point.

Hi ! about the psu.
IT S DONE IT S TIME = REPLACE
NEW PSU TECHNOLOGIES GIVE BETTER PROTECTION AND MATCH THE N EW MOBOS AND THE REST.

Haha I see you points, its just all these parts will cost £2046 English money which is probably like $3,000,000 U.S. I just thought if the current was good enough I could save a little bit. However, I think I will replace, any suggestions?

EVGA power supplies are pretty top.

Which one would you recommend

EVGA 220-G2

What's your current PC? You probably don't need to upgrade to skylake. And are you sure you 32gbs of RAM, getting that with a skylake CPU doesn't make too much sense to me.

I recommend the one i'm currently using. Seasonic SS-850KM3. Plenty of power, hybrid fan switch, and was cheap when I bought it. $74.99 brand new.

Using this with electrical tape on the 8 pin powering a 5820k at 4.2ghz and an HD 7870

I'd take the CX 750 over this any day... Man do I wish I had an EVGA 1300 G2....
