Hiya, So was doing some cable management last night (with the pc off). I turn it back on my gpu fans start up like it normally dose and ramps up then ramps down. My corsair software pops up and says my gpu is running at 42C (109F) It's usually like 20c difference but this was at idle. I took out the gpu cleaned the fans looked it over and nothing looks out of place to me anyway. Turns back on the fans on the gpu don't ramp up this time. I look at it and only the back gpu fan is spinning.
TLDR: only one fan on my gpu is running.
So I have the side panel off and its down to 35C (96F).
Do I try and replace the fans?
If I don't how long can it last on only one fan?
Has anyone attempted this or do I upgrade to a new gpu?
Budget about $160 ~ $200
( PC Specs )
GPU: Sapphire HD Vapor-X 7770
MB: Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0
CPU: FX-6300
HS: Corsair H80i
Ram: 16gm gskill 1866
PSU: Corsair CX750M
I play open world games like Skyrim, GTAV, Saints Row IV. I also stream on Twitch.
I will appreciate any help.

While I do think that your GPU was built to run using both fans, you could try gaming and log how hot your GPU gets.
If it gets too hot, you could replace your cooler with a custom one, which will be below 100$.
It is possible to buy replacement fans that will work as long as the GPU's fan power delivery isn't unusual. The screw mounting points might not line up but if you don't mind being a bit ghetto you can just super glue the fan on the cooler. That's by far the cheapest solution.

Depending on how much of the heatsink is covering the graphic cards components the GPU can die even if the GPU itself stays cool. If the VRM for example is meant to be purely cooled by the fan and isn't covered by the heatsink too that part can overheat, they usually get pretty hot but many AIC manufacturers don't cover them with the same copper block as the GPU is.
From what I gathered I think the VRM part is cooled purely by the fan:

If the GPU is otherwise fine and only the fan got defect I would first search for a fan replacement, would need to be exactly the same though. Otherwise you could replace the whole cooling unit (shroud, fans, heatsink) with either a cheap compatible replacement if you can find something like that on ebay or something or if the card is still worth it something like a Kraken g10 which I think is rather overkill for such an old/cheap card. So alternatively I would try to make it work for a bit longer and wait for something like a Polaris card or one of the cheaper Pascel ones from the nVidia side to replace it.

If RMA is not an option then an after market cooler is the way to go.
I recommend Arctic Accelero Xtreme III because it includes little heatsinks for your ram and vrms (IV doens't). Or, Prolimatech MK-26 and mount your own fan of choice, but preferably a quite static pressure fan.
Heh your better off upgrading the gpu to a R9 390/290 USED or a R9 380 which should fit the budget (especially the 380 I don't know how much is a 390/290 is going for in the States)
when i got my R9 290 it was $250 blackfriday/ cyber monday of 2015. so id imagine you could get one for roughly $160-$180 by now.
An arctic accellero would easily cost double what that card is worth
Arctic Accelero Xtreme III is $75.53 new on Amazon. That's $10.00 less than the Used Sapphire Radeon Vapor-X HD 7770 GHZ at Amazon, or $30.00 less than a brand new said card at Ebay.
PS.: Might be worth his money, gives him a backup cooler if OP chooses to upgrade later on and the fan on that card breaks down too.
Don't waste money, just zip tie 2 x 120mm and it will run cooler than it ever has. I did this to my friend's 5850 and it runs great now.
Damn, the amount of money you saved!
I has that on my window! outside, real world window.. and guees what. you dob't need a dehumidifier ! And it is as it should be, that all the electronics are peacful. and the bread does not mold as quickly, thus... I may play the games, watch the movies.. and microsoft hates that they has this much of an open platform.
