Is My CPU Bottlenecking My 4870?

Hey guys i just bought a sapphire 4870 1gb and i haven't noticed that much improvement from my old 8600gts
for example i ran a far cry 2 test

1440x900 DX10 Very High Settings
and i get an amazing 26.35 fps

then i ran a 640x480 DX9 Low Settings
and i get some pretty NICE results 56.29 fps

i also get about 45 FPS in COD4 Single Player 1920x1080 MAX Settings 4X AA

my current system is
AMD X2 4800+
4GB Ram
Ati 4870 1GB
Foxconn A6VMX Mobo
500GB HD

So what do you guys think?

Hmm i dont know i get 100fps with 8x aa all high settings on cod4 with a EVGA 9800GTX+ Superclocked editon with a AMD 5000+ 0.0

It is bottlenecking ur 4870.

Yup HUGE bottleneck dude - I get 50 fps 1280x1024 Ultra High 4xAA on Far Cry 2 with a Q9550 3.4ghz and 4850 1gb version.Upgrade is needed!

are you kidding me? thats not a bottleneck you're running it fine...

I Think ill be upgrading my CPU very soon
