Is It Worth To Switch To a Mechanical Keyboard

So i have been using a membrane keyboard's my whole life and my Razer Arctosa is falling apart D; . I have heard good things about mechanical keyboard's and they question is...Is it really worth to switch to a mechanical keyboard and what are the trusted manufactures cause at the end of the day i will spend 100€ for a keyboard that i will be stuck with for the rest of its life.

Completely worth it, the big names are Filco, Ducky, Das and Leopold. If you're in the UK you have the keyboard co

Moved the thread to other hardware. I've own 5 mechanical keyboards so far and all of them are better than rubber domes overall. Althugh there's one I don't like and that'll be the one with peerless switches; because of the lack of stablisers on longer keys other than the spacebar. Other than that, I got 3 Cherry MX switches (brown, black and blue and all from Ducky) and a Model M with buckling switches. Still aiming for one more, which is a Ducky with MX red.

One important thing to remember when buying your 1st mechanical keyboard is to do a bit of research on which switch is suitable for your usage. Every one of them are different, but some could have the same feel.

Personally I havent had any experience with mechanical keyboards, but I also really want to switch, therefor I have looked into it and looked at a few reviews.

I really think you should consider the Logitech G710+. Logitech has good sofware, good quility and good support. This board is with MX Browns, so that ofcourse has to be something you think would fit your use.

Personally I really consider that one, because it has a few extra keys and isnt quite as expensive as Filco.. (dont know the price of ducky etc. but suspect they areant much cheaper)

Do it, read reviews and pick one that matches any criteria that you have and you will never look back.

I have a Model M and a Razer BlackWiddow 2013. May not be the best mechanical keyboards out there, but I quite enjoy typing on either of them.

YES, YES and more YES. you won't regret it costs more but you will have piece of mind buying a good name brand mechanical

Just ordered this two nights myself, I normally don't give a shit about my keyboards because I rape with this shiity HP keyboard, but I decided to make a change.

I have that one as well, love it. great sleek design with just enough macros

Only thing I would complain about is that they need to make them a hair more rounded, they tend to be sturdy built though.

My philosophy is: spend more and it will last longer. Mechancial keyboards are a prime example of that.

There will be a period of usually 2 to 4 weeks where your hands have an alien feel to the keyboard. Your typing speed may suffer during this period.

But once your hands get used to the mechanical keyboard, you will never look back on using a membrane.

Ive owned 2 mechanical keyboard (corsair k60 and the leopold fc500r) and honestly once you've owned one you'll never go back and you can never go wrong with them they'll last forever and feel ten times better than membrane

Got a Cherry MX Blue Keyboard today to replace a $10 thin Keyboard I had been using for years. Not the greatest Keyboard but for $59.99 I'm not going to complain and it sure beats the damn $10 dollar keyboard that I can't even locate online when I type in the name or model number.

Simple answer... YES! I have a Ducky yotd (Basically a shine II tkl) which is backlit, has no keypad, and has mx browns. I love my keyboard, the mechanical switches just feel so much better. With mechanical it is going to last you forever and while they do not have as flashy style in most cases they still have tons of choices in design and customization. Cooler Master makes some great cheap ones, pretty much any of the other brands that have already been recommended by others are great. Just to a little research and decide what switch you want! You will love it.
