Yep. Good old days, the laptop fans would screech loudly if I have a few tabs open and would run both the CPU and GPU at 90 C, gaming on those is kind of problematic cause of the thermal throttling that occurs.
Update coming today, Steak and Bacon...
Wow why try frying how very 1980's.... Seriously get a water cooler, pipe it to a tank get your sous vide on! Enjoy that beautiful scrambled egg or perfect steak. Now we are talking!
And watch as the ASIC becomes adequately cooled and can no longer sustain temperatures high enough to cook anything.
If you insulate the water tank appropriately you can use that to control the temp. A slow cooker is only around 300 watts. It would work perfectly. Brb going to share my great idea with Linus.
He's already half-way there
I had a GTX 465 and I believe @Nuggetninja can do it.
Here is a different Cooking Recipe.
Cook a few kernels of Popcorn.

That way if you succeed, you win an explosion!
Yea that was what got me thinking about it.
Hey I'm currently setting up a stream for while u cook it, would y'all be down for that?
Quick update. The stream stopped because the camera battery ran out. It's charged now but the steak is almost done. I could grab some bacon if there is interest.
At the time of this post it is medium rare, which is how I like my steak.
Also I found that closing the foil made it cook faster. Finished result:
Yesss thats awesome!
Glad I read tell the end, that steak looks good!
Sad I missed it, but glad your dreams didn't stay memes!
Looks good, in total how long did it take to cook?
I would say about an hour. It seems to be longer because I switched methods half way though (from cast iron to foil) and the foil was faster. I dont think it gets hot enough to get the cast iron hot enough
The GTX 480 made for a good space heater in the winter before I switched it out for a GTX 680 :)
Bitcoin mining is all done on FPGA or custom ASICs now. You use GPUs for Alt-Coins, like Ethereum or Monero.
