Is it Human Nature to Underestimate Ourselves as a Species?

Moreover, is it a left over trait that we inherited from our early ancestors? If your stance to both question is yes, then could these be the basis of why we still have religion and conspiracy theories credited towards our own human accomplishments such as Pyramids of Egypt or the Moon Landing?

Yes its "human" to underestimate ourselves, be it just a personal thing or all humans as a whole. You mention things like the moon landing, but it can also be more simple as "never being able to fly"

Why do you ask? are you a form of outer-inelegant life who stumbled on the Human race?

I believe the opposite is the case. We overestimate ourselves as a species. I don't know who said it but:

'An individual person can be smart, but in a group... people are generally stupid.'
