I finished building my PC and have a GTX 1070 in it. To get higher framerates and more consistent framerates I’m thinking of upgrading to a 6000 series AMD card since I currently have a 1080p and 1440p monitor and at most would just want a higher refresh rate monitor. Which would make the 7000 series probably not necessary as well as just the fact that mid-end cards I imagine won’t be out for a while. Would it be wiser to have the 6000 GPU dedicated to the gaming VM and have the 1070 for anything on Fedora that requires GPU horsepower or is it better to have one card be doing both gaming and the normal desktop and is there any consequences of not doing a full pass through that I should know?
With less things in the way, you’re less likely to have performance issues.
so best to passthrough a device.
