it would be awesome if you could rate my build. it will be used for gaming mostly (witcher 3, ac unity, skyrim, gta 5,...) and a few office applications but no rendering.. The games i want wo play with high, ultra high details. Resolution... no idea!
i am from austria so i am using €.. my budget will be around 1100-1200€. This is only for the pc!
With monitors i have absolutely no idea what to get, but it should be a 24', and cost about 250-300€.. Maybe you got some advices...
this will be my first build but i am confident that i am capable of getting this done, also i got some friends who already built theirs...
You should probably get a bigger powersupply, maybe a 500w. It's always good to have a little more that way the psu isn't at full load ALL THE TIME, but other than that it lokk really good.
I wanted to take the Xeon because I don´t have any plans on OC. I don´t know how to do it and I read that it wouldn´t be that much of a power boost. So I thought the Xeon was the right choice.
Ok, if you really don't want to overclock the Xeon is absolutely a very good deal at the moment and a rock-solid performer.
But, there is a lot of myth out there regarding overclocking. It is not that hard to do, the performance you gain especially in games can be significant and as long as you don't go crazy, it's not dangerous or anything like that. Just consider that. Plus, OCing is actually fun.
Here is another suggestion:

If you stick to the Xeon, that build is still going to work fine.

Don't go with the prices provided on PCPartpicker though, because PCPP-Germany sucks. They are conected to very few vendors and many parts are not even listed. Check geizhals.at and you might be able to save some money.
For mainaly gaming, i would skip the xeon realy. and grab an unlocked cpu. like a 4690K or a 4790K.
Xeon is offcourse not bad, but in terms of overclocking, you are realy limmited. if you dont care about overclocking then basicly a xeon is not a bad choice. But an unlocked cpu, can offcourse be clocked higher, and will perform better in games.
So yeah, its up to you. But i would personaly grab a 4790K if you have €1200 to spend on a build imo. simply because a 4790K turbo´s upto 4.4Ghz on stock.
hmm, you make me think again... Do you think with my build it will be possible to play the next 2/3 years the latest games on high details? i don´t want to spend this much money just to need to upgrade again next year..
And about the video card.. There isn´t a big difference between the different types of the gtx 970 right?
And another question: What would be a fitting monitor?
yes a setup like this will play games the upcomming years just fine.
look at sandybridge cpu´s like the 2500k or 2600k, they are still totaly fine for todays games, those cpu´s are 3 years old allready. so yeah.
About the GTX970´s, there are a few diffrences between diffrent models, but in terms of performance, there isnt realy much of a diffrent between them on stock. In terms of overclocking, this can offcourse variate a bit. But in terms of real time performance, its most of the time, nothing to call you friends about lol.
About monitor, this is realy personal, it highly depends on what you prefer, fast response times and higher Hz, then you should look for a TN panel. But if viewing angles and color accurancy is more important to you, then you should look at a ips or pls monitor.
