could you guys run a few searches for celebs (without @ or twitter) in the google search…
coz for me until as of a few days ago, if i searched for anyone, the results were typically.
there twitter first then there bio or what ever they were involved in at the time.
but over the last few days twitter as a reply is showing up less and less to the point im now having to @twitter to get twitter results.
is this happening world wide ???
can confirm. But the main thingy is a bunch of people in goverment(s) know that if enough people know about some of the things going on, even their most loyal supporters will call for…a bad day iykwim.
The problem is people are so divided now and so needlessly against each other that even some of the awful, twisted illegal and just plain evil stuff that’s been going on is not enough to make ppl come together…
And that’s really sad and an embarrasing look at how our world is. We can do better. So much better.
I have not heard of any issues with Nitter or other API users, though.
In a quick test, I am seeing a fair amount of Twitter in Google search results; @anon7678104 was this absence in the normal web results or in the Knowledge Graph panels? I am seeing both, though the dedicated panels may to be only for queries whose accounts tweet frequently.
Works fine for me. Google seems to have redesigned how they show public personas and their social media presence. I imagine there’s no conspiracy, just a redesign in progress.
just a normal search for someone like Whitney cummings.
shes on twitter, and a fam member passed. i went to google it and her twitter was way down in the results.
normally for a celeb like that you see 2-3 of the latest tweets. a couple of pics then all there bio stuff. followed by instagram / facebook and the likes.
when i did the search earlier all the twitter stuff shown in the grab, was missing from its pretty blatant place on google search.
so i came and asked if it was the same for you guys…
guess it was just a maintenance thing.
Sure thing!
I know this redesign confused me at first, but honestly, I didn’t notice any difference in the actual search results.
There’s a new quick summary at the top that looks nice, and the tweets on my searches are mostly where they were before. Just a scroll or two on the mouse wheel.
Or, could have been Google trying a new layout, in a select manner to a few (thousand) people at once, then measuring click-thru and advertising metrics?
When I want to see specific search results, I just talk in front of my smart phone / home assistant and the next time I log in, bam, there’s the ad with exactly what I asked for.
yeah a few people have mentioned that behaviour form the bot assistants.
but i was just making a query to see if you guys were seeing changes on your google search…
Oh I did understand your concern, but I didn’t want to report back until I reviewed every actresses profile through Google searches. I don’t want to report on an incomplete subset of data. That would be unprofessional of me. So, back to the bikini pictures for science!
