iPhone 15 compatibility with DisplayPort 1.4 KVM switch (5-gig)

KVM Model:

1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Single Monitor - Four Computer

USB Interface (5-gigabit or 10-gigbit):

5-gigabit

Problem:

No display from iPhone 15. I do get power delivery to the phone though. Cable works as expected with 11th gen Tiger Lake based laptop.

Other Notes:

@Level1_Amber Before I start testing different cables etc I just wanted to ask if there are any known compatibility issues with display out from iPhone 15. :slightly_smiling_face:

I personally don’t know much about iPhone compatibility and/or it that’s a thing we support with the KVMs. @wendell do you have any info on the iPhone 15?

As a follow up to this,

I was able to use our iPhone 15 Pro with the DisplayPort 1.4 KVM. The important thing here is to get a good quality USB-C to DisplayPort cable. Most are bad.

The one I used in this video is from Moshi. We’ve had a good experience with them:

Thank you for testing this!

I have since started to suspect the monitor for being the culprit here. It’s an older Dell from 2015 (U3415W). Couldn’t get it working with a USB-C to HDMI directly to the monitor either, while that cable works fine to a TV. I’ll confirm with the DP cable directly to this monitor eventually as well.

I believe it did work via the KVM with a better monitor, but I don’t have it here to test with atm.

I also tried a newer Lenovo tablet and couldn’t get an image from that one either. This I know for sure worked fine through the KVM to the better monitor I mentioned.
