IP KVM for Minisforum mini PCs

I am trying to create a setup where I can remotely turn on/off a couple of Minisforum mini PCs - x400 & MS-S1 Max. A while ago I got a NanoKVM lite, AFAIU, the lite variant does not have this capability, but the regular NanoKVM can with a regular PC, so does the PiKVM. But it’s not clear to me if this is possible with Minisforum mini PCs. So here are my questions:

  1. Can I remotely power-on/off Minisforum mini PCs?
  2. Which IP KVMs have the remote power on/off capability?
    • NanoKVM w/ ATX board
    • PiKVM
    • …?

FWIW, I’m on Linux.

I have the Nano KVM Pro, many PiKVMs, a gl.inet Comet, JetKVM, and probably some others I am forgetting. While most of them have ATX power control, you will not find they work with Mini PCs since most don’t expose the pins needed. I use a smart plug + “power on after power loss” for most of my needs, but that isn’t perfect. Gl.inet has a plugin to make it work with the Fingerbot and I think you can script similar functionality into the PiKVM if someone hasn’t already. Either way, it will have to be somewhat manual.

Thanks! That helps. The Fingerbot is really interesting, didn’t know such a thing existed

there is also the DIY way of soldering small wires to the same contacts used by the power button and make them exit the case through one of the venting holes so you can connect that to a pikvm or other ip kvm that expects atx pins. I did that to an old laptop motherboard I was using as a mini server so I could jury-rig a “power on after power loss” feature using a timed relay (as the laptop bios didn’t have that feature built in)
