Internet goes out randomly/questions

Hey guys, first post on here. :D My problem is my internet goes out randomly. I've dealt with this for about 2 years now and tired of it. When the internet is working its not bad, its just not stable .. I am from canada ontario, maybe some of u ontarians can pitch in here. How often does your internet go out? And which ISP are you with? My internet goes out randomly any where from 10-20 times a day, usually lasting 10 or 20 seconds and sometimes longer like 15-20 minutes.. My ISP is Cogeco, I have the ultimate 55 plan or something like 2 upload 55 down.. They sent out multiple technicians to my house, they checked and replaced the line, swapped out my modem 4 times and i even went to the cogeco store and asked for a brand new modem. they say everything is good on their end.. So im now thinking the problem has to be the router? my router is a linksys or cisco WRT310N. i read reviews on this and most people say it randomly drops and overheats. I'm thinking i should buy a new router and see if it fixes my problem. if the problem is my router, which router do u guys recommend? ill be using wired to 2 desktops, 2 xboxes and 2 ps3s, will need wireless/wifi for a laptop and a tablet. I'm looking to spend around $100-150, i want something that will be very reliable.

I did some quick searches and so far ive heard good things about the ASUS RT-N66U. This is a little bit out of my budget though.

Also some quick searches lead me to this info on what i should look for:

4 or more Wired Gigabit Ethernet ports, Wireless N (802.11 a/b/g/n), BOTH Wireless AND wired LAN connections, One with some form of traffic shaping or QoS, Dual-Band support for 2.4GHz & 5GHz

Any feedback/suggestions from u guys is appreciated thanks!
