Internet doesnt automatically connect to router, how to fix?

Not sure whether to put this in software or hardware section.

So whenever I restart my computer, it wont connect automatically to my internet even though the box "Connect Automatically" is checked.

The wifi adapter is a Netgear A6200 and my OS is windows 8.

Something weird that happens is when I try to manually connect it sometimes says it couldnt connect but then shows that it was able to connect.

Did you install the win8 drivers from netgear site or are you using basic microsoft drivers?

My guess would be that the DHCP runtime on your PC isn't running.
