Internet COAX

First off I don't see the right category for this particular post so I just placed this in other hardware; just placed this in the right category if need be.

So, I changed my ISP since the first one I had for 6 years totally sucked as of late; there customer service ain't that nice or bright either. Now that I got a new connection, to my dismay, since I was school, my cousin wasn't too bright either to remember to tell the technicians what length I would want my cable to be.

Now faced with a very short cable, I thought of getting a coax extender, but have no idea what coax size is best for cable modems.

The included cable didn't have an indication and my previous net was wireless to the point that there was no cable modems. Just an antennae directlt to my router. So I have no previous background when it comes to coax in internet.

Before buying a coax that would not work out, I might as well make sure of the size before I got to the local hardware shop.

Thanks a bunch!

just get a long ethernet, it'll be chaper and easier. i have a 25', was like $20

Yeah, that is actually a better idea; saves the headaches LOLĀ

um you can get 100Ft Cat6 less than $20 shipped, monoprices is the way to go if you don't make your own cables

Yep, just got a longer ethernet cable lol. Just got back from the local shop.

My only gripe is if I do have a problem with my connection and need to see the cable modem, I have to go out of my bedroom. Well, then again, I do need the exercise. LOL

ps. its RG-6. you would need an rg-6 f-type coupler. and then just screw it on both cables. they sell em at walmart...
