This is the speed that tech moves some times and the consumer just have to keep up and I beleve they will call the HEXA CORES CORE i9.
Your i7 wont get slower just because a faster one is out.
I still love my e8400, and see no need in a new one.
Besides, this will be $999+ at release.

wait... isn't the 6 core processor just the core i5? 6 virtual cores... core i5? 8 virtual cores... core i7?... or is this a completely new processor with 6 physical cores?
i believe this is going to be 6 physical cores. i doubt it will be to great of a buy for gaming. a workstation though is a different story.
