Intriguing that it doesn't happen to the older generations but I find it questionable of Intel that this slipped through testing. At least it's easy to fix with just a bios update so it's not a huge deal
Yea I remember the 4790k or the 4770k generation wasn't so good with prime95 too. Various forums would warn users not to run prime95 as it could get up to 70c on the CPU or throttle it instantly. So i didn't' find this astonishing at all.
