you are very correct, but the gtx 380 will obviously beat the 5870 and the gtx 395 will obviously poop on the 5970, but they were beaten to market pretty bad
Im not so sure. I'm not going to say either are faster till they come out and I see something on THW. I also really don't care which is faster, the low end ATI card are good enough imo. Support and price are going to be the deciding factors for me.
You guys are right market is in mainstream, but look at the high end market. How many people buy i7's. Many people have bought i7's and I'm sure if AMD comes out with something faster than i7 even if it's that expensive people would consider it because they want as much speed as they can get. AMD does have to worry about upcoming i5's and i3's in jan and I wish they would start producing phenom 3 or something that can be released soon like another phenom 2 to compete with i5. Phenom 2's are going to be discontinued next year. At least most of them. If so much of the market is mainstream than AMD shouldn't have so much debt and shouldn't own 20% of the market and have Intel own 80.

it is called the thuban, it will be as fast as an i7 and work on am2 and am3, therefore dominating mainstream because the price will be so good. Also, the i5s and i3s will be and are kinda failures because they use new sockets which is just a waste of time and money for intel.
god damn gameriot
I doubt they are worried, since the Phenom 2's readily compete with the i5's and and Phenom x2 do fine against i3's. They have the six core Thuban on the way, so there is no worries.
I hope that double blog post wasn't Gamefucket's fault, that would just be laughable.
You have no idea how many double-triple-and quadruple posts I have to delete every single day because of gayriot.. lol
Lol, it's so annoying, Qain had a double Blog post. It's getting ferking ridiculous.
Yes I know. It will only be a success if its got a good price because i9 is also six cores and is 32nm vs 45nm. It will just be more expensive.

I do like compatibility with phenom 2's and I have one, it makes me feel futureproof in the AMD world even though there is no such word in computing. Anyway the 890 chipset is on its way, so not going to upgrade anytime soon.
Wait, like Nvidia 890!? Damn, I was just going to invest heavily in 980a.
no ati 890 chipset.
ah, well, the thubans were NOT meant to compete with i9s. They were meant to destroy the sheer idea of buying an i7 because they're cheaper, more overclockable, and more compatible with current mobos.
aren't amd coming out with 32nm quads as well?
are there actualy any legitimate benchmarks for any of this or is everyone just speculating like a bunch of idiots.
Yea and how many of those are system builders? Most of the reasons intel owns so much of the market is because they pay off companies (eg dell) and yes, intel has been caught paying off companies to only use their CPUs. I really don't think AMD is going anywhere as long as they own ATi. With DX11 coming out soon, Nvidia is going to go down hill because that fanboy excuse (Physx) is going to be useless, which will only give people more of a reason to buy ATi cards.
ok ok. where are those intel fanboys. where have they gone. i swear any other thread i have seen has some intel fanboys in it.
